Women
The women of West Club desire to love God, love each other, and love our world, and we want other women to as well! We also know that women are busy with work, school, husbands, kids, friends, and life in general. But, we hope that we can provide various avenues for women to go deeper into the gospel.
To love God, we are offering a book club starting in September and running through May, meeting the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm to discuss that month’s book. It will be an intense undertaking and require the full 9 month commitment, but the rewards of digging into theological and spiritual writings will be worth the effort. The times and dates of the meetings will depend on the needs of the group. Email Jena-Marie (jenamarie.obrienATgmailDOTcom) to sign up or for more information.
We also want to know if any women are interested in being in a Women’s Small Group. There is a group meeting currently looking for more members, and we could start a second in the fall if the interest is there. Email Katie (katiecbakerATgmailDOTcom) if you are interested.
To love each other, we are offering several opportunities. One is a group exercise class on Mondays at 7:00pm, starting Sept 5. This class will focus mostly on power yoga and body weight strength. This class is mostly a chance to hang out and get healthier as a group. Email Katie (katiecbakerATgmailDOTcom) to sign up or with any questions.
We also have a Mentor Network to provide mentors to believing women who want to go deeper in their walk with the Lord. If you’d like to either be or have a mentor, please be part of this network! Email Lisa (lisa.dagleyATgmailDOTcom) for more information.

Click here for the Profile Cards for being mentored, or becoming a mentor at Summit. Email completed applications to Lisa.
To love our world, we have a handful of ministry opportunities with the community. One is working with Pregnancy Support Services to minister to unwed mothers or mothers who simply need a little extra assistance as they transition to having a new baby. Email Karen (karenlmanningATgmailDOTcom) for more info. The second is working within the local Women’s Prison, which apparently isn’t as scary as it sounds. The opportunities for ministry there are endless and the field there is ripe for harvest. Email Jenn (bothpappasATgmailDOTcom) if interested. Third is working within the Refugee ministry, serving foreign women and families who have been displaced from their homes and have landed in Durham. Email Emily (egsinkATgmailDOTcom) for more info.
So West Club Women, there are you choices. Don’t sign up for everything, but pick something if it fits easily into your life. None of these opportunities are intended to replace your small group (except the Women’s Small Group, of course), but are simply additional ways for you to be involved in loving God, loving each other, and loving our world at West Club.
If you have any questions, please email me!
